  Page 1: This page introduces the short film. It starts off by showing the title, then the main characters during one of their classes. It also subtly introduces the plot and rising action. Page 2: The first three boxes on this page are a continuation of the first page. They close off the first scene. The last three boxes introduce scene two. This is when the turning point of scene two is introduced. Page 3: The third scene starts on this page with the transition of the clouds. This page basically introduces the plot within the plot. Since it is a dream, it is like another story. Pages 4-6: These pages continue the third through fifth scene. They feature a sequence of events occurring in the dream. Each scene in these pages are essentially when the climax takes place. Page 7: This page shows the end of scene five. It builds up tension and cuts after a tense moment.   We plan to film our short film at different locations around the school. The first place we plan to film is on the track. This is where the establishing shot will be and the entire first scene will happen. The next scene will take place in the bully's room, this where the transition to the bully's dream takes place. The bully's dream will occur in the outside hallway of building 5. The final scene will happen in the bus loop. We will begin filming after winter break, January 3, 2022. The day back is an A day so we will try to film during al of our study halls. When filming isn't in process everyone will have on their masks for safety. There will be sanitizer for the cast to use whenever they touch anything. One of the main props will have are the bookbags they have on. Since they are teenagers they will also have their phones. A short film can be made in different ways. For example, Le  Jetee was a series of pictures with audio that was narrating the story. A motion picture isn't the only effective way to portray the events in a short film. The pictures were used as visualization of what happened. The narrating voice was used to tell the story and create the plot. In some  cases  a short film is a remake of a  full length movie. In other cases, the  full length  movie is an extension of the short. It is used to add more detail, character development and depth to the story line. On the other hand, a short film can also be the  base of a  full length  movie. The video helps explain ways a short film can portray the plot more effectively.   This video gives advice on ways to better a short film. One thing the speaker in the video points out is to plan. This ensures he doesn't write a script for 10 people while only 3 people are in the short film. He also says to write everything that will occur. For example, the script, setting and plot of the short film. This is so you can know exactly what will be needed to complete this film. This also helps you to know what you need to go back and change. Another thing the speaker says is to do the opposite of your first instinct. The example he gives is that instead of having a figure showing in the mirror when the actor raises his head, he instead did nothing. He continues to explain that he does this because his first instinct is also what most viewers would expect to happen. So instead he chose to not go with his first instinct. The short begins  with a  doll (5)  hitting  something on the ground. He then walks over to another doll (9). 9 is standing by broken light and 5 seems to have an idea. He goes into his doll body and pulls out items that are used to fix the light. Then a loud sound can be heard and 5 tells 9 to take the light and other things and hide. 5 tries to fight the mechanical monster but is defeated. His soul seems to get sucked into a disk like  object  that glows green.  Later  in the short film, 9 is chased by  the  mechanical monster. He is chased for several minutes until he has an idea which  ultimately defeats  the beast. 9 connects two glowing disks and frees the souls of dolls who  had the  same  fate  as 5. The setting is a gloomy and deserted dump where dolls live. The  full-length  movie begins with a man creating a doll until he eventually dies from a spark. The doll (9) comes to life and trave...

 This short film was very simple and short, but with a supernatural twist. Most of it takes place in slow motion and the entire film is in black and white. It begins with an establishing shot of the scene’s settings and immediately cues the non-diegetic music that plays throughout.  There weren’t too many different types of CAMS, CLAMPS, sound, and editing in this film. Since it is in black and white, it also isn’t that easy to distinguish the types of lighting. There is a lot of cutting between each character. Each cut either features a close up, mid shot, or full shot of the person. There are some over the shoulder shots that are used since both characters are looking at each other. The costuming is a bit more old school compared to now. That is mean to match the setting which also seems to take place in an earlier time.   this short film was about the last three minutes of a man’s life. It is a drama that features a series of cuts, natural lighting, and non-diegetic music almost throughout the entire thing. The scene begins with low key lighting and a long shot to show the entire scene. That is common when a film starts just to show the audience what the scene looks like. Throughout the entire film, there is hardly any dialogue or spoken words at all.  Some angles used in the film are low angles, high angles, profiles, and even dutch angles which aren’t too common in dramas. For example, a low angle is used at the start when the man clutches his chest. This is showing that he is a victim of the circumstance he in. He is weak and essentially powerless because there is no one around to help him. Also, most of the scenes are filmed in from the point of view of the subject. As the man’s life is flashing before his eyes, his memories are in first person. The lighting used were mostly natural light...

While watching this short film, I noticed that the production was very simple. Usually in dramas, there would be features like non-natural lighting added or at least two different settings within the time span of the 15 minutes the short film took place. There’s also usually a “villain”, someone that plays the antagonist. However, some things seen in typical dramas weren’t included. However, there were still multiple aspects of the film that represented those of a drama. First of all, there’s the lighting. Like I previously mentioned, there wasn’t really any non-natural lighting (none that are noticeable at least). What I mean by this, is that there didn’t seem to be any lighting used other than the ones that were originally part of the setting. Though it did include low-key lighting, high-key lighting, and three-point lighting, they were all generated by the light sources found and used in the scene.   This short film was very consistent in the conventions used. Though there wasn’t that much difference in the editing, lighting, sound, costuming, or camera movements/angles, it definitely embodied the drama genre. It didn’t start off with any sort of establishing shot to show the scene, but from the context clues, the viewers are able to tell that it begins in front of the little girls school or some sort of class. There is non-diegetic music playing throughout but there are also diegetic sounds heard in the film. There is no form of dialogue or speaking, with the exception of the ending where the mother tells the child to turn the light off, so most of the diegetic sounds are made from objects in the scene. Some of the objects, or props, include the backpack or the light lamp. Some of the more significant props are the white powder and the wings which we could say is also part of the costuming.   Out of all three of the genres chosen, we decided to finally go with Drama. The reason for this choice is that a drama is simply more flexible than the others. There are so many aspects to a film that can make it be considered as a drama. On the other hand, Horror and Comedy have a big more restraint. When making a horror film, there has to be some element that “scares” the audience. Whether it is actually scary or not isn’t the point, but whether it creates a chilling atmosphere. It just didn’t really seem to fit into the prompt of our short film. We don’t want the audience to be too distracted by “not getting scared” to the point where they miss the message we are trying to send. Comedy was a little more close than horror, but again, it didn’t seem to match our story. The main purpose of comedic films is to have the audience laughing. Some include high key lighting, three point lighting, and low key lighting. Camera angles that are used can include the high angle, low angle, and Dutch angle. Examples of each term are also shown in the presentation. Some camera movements seen can include the pan, steadicam, and the handheld camera movement. Like every other film, not just comedies, the mise en scene of a comedy always contains the setting, props, costuming, and acting of the character. Some examples of comedy films like, Madea’s family Funeral and Brooklyn Nine Nine are also listed in the PowerPoint.

  There  a r e many elements that are used to make up the genre of horror. A common lighting technique used in horror is silhouette, where the main object is dark while the background remains visible. Another common lighting technique is spotlighting, where a light is put onto an object to illuminate and signify it. A last common lighting technique is low- key lighting where shadows in the scene are highlighted. A common angle in horror is a high angle, where the camera is pointed down at the subject. Another common angle is a tilted angle, where the camera is set at an angle to the side. A last common angle in horror is a low angle, where the camera is looking up at the subject. We chose three different genres that we believed our pitch could fit into. The first genre we chose is comedy. Our pitch could fit into the comedy genre because of some events that could occur. For example, while the bully is learning from his mistake someone could make a joke. It could also fit in this genre because of its elements and Mis-En-Scene. Such as, the casual costumes and classroom settings of many comedy films. The second genre we chose for our pitch is horror. This pitch could fit into this genre because of the acts of violence within the scenes. Another reason it could fit is because of some common sounds found in horror. For example, screaming; this could be used in our pitch during a scene where the bully is bullying someone. The last genre we chose for our pitch is drama. Our pitch could fit into this genre because the relationship between a bully and his victim revolves around drama. For this short film, I will be working with my friend Janaiya. She was also in the AS level class last year and is taking the A level class this year. It only made sense to work together because we knew each other. I’m not familiar with any other A level students in my class period so that is another reason we decided to work together. We have the class on two different days from each other, but that’s not really a problem.  I’m sure that both of our schedules are pretty flexible. If there is a time we need to me up, we would be able to without too much of a problem. The only time that would be anyways, is when we actually start recording for our short film. One thing I am worried about though is our school policies. When the school year started, we weren’t allowed to leave our classes because of contact tracing for Covid-19.  Hello! Welcome back to my AICE Media experience. My name is Esther and I am currently in the A level Media Studies class. This is my second year taking this class after taking the AS level last year. I took this class in 10th grade, through E-Learning. A lot of people had a hard time with E-Learning last year but in all honesty, this class was one of the easiest for me to deal with. The pandemic made it difficult to focus on the class lesson, but since we only did project based learning that didn't require class "lessons", it was a lot easier to get through the class and complete the assignments. The reason I chose to take the A level class is because I was curious as to how the work would be different from the AS level class. Also, based on the previous A level students, this class isn't too hard.However, I will have to experience that for myself. Additionally, when I pass this class, I would have passed enough AICE classes to then get my AICE Diploma. I ...

 First Pitch:  “A bully finally learns a valuable lesson after picking on anyone he could get his hands on for so long” Second pitch:  “When a millionaire  suddenly loses all of their fortune, they are forced to have to learn the ways of a pauper to survive.” Third Pitch:  “An assassin realizes that killing is no longer their specialty when they  are hired to take the life of a family member.” My partner Janaiya and I ended up choosing the fist pitch about “the bully who learns his lesson after bullying everyone for a long time.”  We went with this pitch because it was the closest and most relatable idea to our lives. We wanted to be able to spread some sort of awareness about bullying. I personally notice that a lot of short films have a message or “lesson learned” by the end, so this plot seems to fit into the same category.  This is My CCR video. I filmed it while doing a bit of my skincare routine. I thought it would be a good time to do it right be for I go to bed for the day. I will be addressing aspects of our final task and explaining how each question is answered throughout the film. Hope you enjoy it!

This is our movie, The Missing. At first, we thought it wouldn't be so hard to film just two minutes of a film, but we were proven otherwise when we actually started. It was a bit tedious because we had trouble meeting up. We also had a few problems here and there while editing, but it was all worth it. Our group, along with the friends we showed, were really excited about the final result, and we hope you enjoy our Film as well.
