Genre Research: Extraction


Extraction is about someone trying to save a boy's life because he had been kidnapped. The boy had disappeared just like in our film where the mother had disappeared on the three kids. Our movie can compare to Extraction because it's all about the three kids trying to rescue their mom. Movies like these gives you more ideas for what to film in the future and better understanding of things. This is a really great movie to watch if you love triller movies. I feel like this is a mix between thriller and action with all the fight scenes and gun fire but then again, most thriller movies are like that. 


The fight scenes to this movie were amazing with the knife fights and the gun fights. This movie is one of my favorites from 2020. I really liked how at the beginning the main character made an action-packed entrance where he jumped off a cliff into the water and stayed down there for a while. There are a lot of unexpected twist to this movie and I like that about it. It's like taking a rollercoaster ride and it leaves you on the edge of your seat. 


A lot of people can have different points of views to films like these and in a way not every thriller movie is the same so you could love one but hate the other. The main character has incredible skills mentally and physically which is crazy. He takes on everyone by himself and isn't scared of anything but mostly because he has nothing to lose. Rescuing an international crime lord's son isn't easy and he did it. The story in this movie brings out what you see in other countries and how people live. He got some help this the boy's trainer who used to protect him and they both fought for the boy. It's crazy how they took on basically the whole country's military by themselves, their aim with guns are so good. There's nothing that I didn't really like about this movie I really loved it. The only thing is that he shouldn't have died at the end of the movie that made me sad but, it's a movie so. Definitely recommend this movie for everyone to watch and enjoy it.

  I started filming this blog on Friday, October 30th, 2020 when my mother and I went out. I figured that since we were taking the car, I could use that chance to film some of the interior features of the car that would be showcased. Because I needed my dad for most of the other shots, I waited till the weekend to continue the filming. That Sunday, on the 31st, I didn't have the chance to go out so I decided to film the 360 view of the car that would be used in the opening of the commercial. I used a long shot to show the entirety of the car exterior. I also filmed the scene that would come after the opening on that day. This scene was of my father putting a few things into the trunk of the car. On Sunday, my dad and I took a trip to the store. This was the perfect opportunity to film him getting into and starting the car. Title Research: Glass

Art of the Title The opening sequence shows the production company in charge of the film. It shows the company that works with distributing the movie. Then it shows the title of the film. The film then starts to show the actors playing in the movie. The sequence then starts to name the people who helped cast the film, as well as the director. It showed who was in charge of music, costuming, editing, photography, then the producers.  The opening sequence starts off with a recap. this film is a sequel, so it begins by introducing the main character of the original. Later on, it introduces some of the other characters. It builds the moment by showing background events that lead to the appearance of the next potential main character.  The first clip of the man speaking to the girls can allow us to assume that the man has some sort of psychological disorder. Genre Research: Final Choice

  Out of all three of the genres chosen, we decided to finally go with Drama. The reason for this choice is that a drama is simply more flexible than the others. There are so many aspects to a film that can make it be considered as a drama. On the other hand, Horror and Comedy have a big more restraint. When making a horror film, there has to be some element that “scares” the audience. Whether it is actually scary or not isn’t the point, but whether it creates a chilling atmosphere. It just didn’t really seem to fit into the prompt of our short film. We don’t want the audience to be too distracted by “not getting scared” to the point where they miss the message we are trying to send. Comedy was a little more close than horror, but again, it didn’t seem to match our story. The main purpose of comedic films is to have the audience laughing.
