Filming for my Music Video

 Initially, I was planning to film during thanksgiving break. However, since my family was planning for thanksgiving, I was occupied with helping out. The past few weeks had also been hectic because of a family emergency so I was also busy helping with whatever I could. There may have been a few moments I could've used to film, but I just never thought about it. The only scene I was really able to film was the view of the sky. After Thanksgiving, my family and I grilled outside, so I was able to just set the camera up on a time-lapse while pointed towards the sky. I will add the amount of time that I need and cut out any additional time.


As soon as school ended at 2:30pm on Monday, November 30th, I got to filming. Of course, I had already planned what and how I was going to film the scenes for the music video. So all that was left was to get the people I needed for the scenes. everyone I was going to film is part of my family and most of the shots were done in my house so it should've been quick and easy to film a good amount of scenes. Even so, the sun has been setting earlier so it gets darker sooner. This makes it harder to film for too long since all of my scenes are set during the day.

so far, I've been able to film from the beginning of the song where I use my youngest brother, to scene seven where my brother and sister were meeting up. I haven't been able to film the low angle of myself walking because I haven't figured out how to position the camera, but I decided to look at some videos of how photographers get the type of shot I'm aiming for. Some of the scenes require me to go to the store to get something. That is another reason I'm not really finished. My home printer needs more ink so we need to buy more. I need to print the job application for one of my scenes which is why that one is on hold for now. I plan on finishing the filming by Friday, December 4th. it gives me enough time to go to the store after school on Thursday and film when I get back as well as on the next day.

  I started filming this blog on Friday, October 30th, 2020 when my mother and I went out. I figured that since we were taking the car, I could use that chance to film some of the interior features of the car that would be showcased. Because I needed my dad for most of the other shots, I waited till the weekend to continue the filming. That Sunday, on the 31st, I didn't have the chance to go out so I decided to film the 360 view of the car that would be used in the opening of the commercial. I used a long shot to show the entirety of the car exterior. I also filmed the scene that would come after the opening on that day. Title Research: Glass

Art of the Title The opening sequence shows the production company in charge of the film. It shows the company that works with distributing the movie. Then it shows the title of the film. The film then starts to show the actors playing in the movie. The sequence then starts to name the people who helped cast the film, as well as the director. It showed who was in charge of music, costuming, editing, photography, then the producers.  The opening sequence starts off with a recap. this film is a sequel, so it begins by introducing the main character of the original. Later on, it introduces some of the other characters. It builds the moment by showing background events that lead to the appearance of the next potential main character.  The first clip of the man speaking to the girls can allow us to assume that the man has some sort of psychological disorder. Genre Research: Final Choice

  Out of all three of the genres chosen, we decided to finally go with Drama. The reason for this choice is that a drama is simply more flexible than the others. There are so many aspects to a film that can make it be considered as a drama. On the other hand, Horror and Comedy have a big more restraint. When making a horror film, there has to be some element that “scares” the audience. Whether it is actually scary or not isn’t the point, but whether it creates a chilling atmosphere. It just didn’t really seem to fit into the prompt of our short film. We don’t want the audience to be too distracted by “not getting scared” to the point where they miss the message we are trying to send. Comedy was a little more close than horror, but again, it didn’t seem to match our story. The main purpose of comedic films is to have the audience laughing.
