Toyota Commercial Planning

 Since I will be doing a Toyota commercial, I will be using a Toyota SUV to model. I will also be using props such as a bike and a few bags to showcase the storage space of the car.

In this commercial, I will be needing the assistance of an adult to model with the car as well as drive around and interact with the car features. because the weather is moderate, the model will be in casual clothing. The person will also be modeling a Toyota hat that is acquired when you shop with Toyota. 

The first location will be in the front yard of our home. This is where I will film the car alone to showcase the exterior features. Then I will be filming the actor moving the luggage into the trunk of the car as well as getting into and starting the car. I will be using my neighborhood street to film some of the driving features from outside as well as the inside of the car

We will then leave the house and I will film the car on the road. For this section, I will need a free road for the car to pass in one go.

in case of a situation where I cant get an open road, I will film the model car on the road from another vehicle driving alongside the Toyota. it would be preferred if the weather was nice and sunny, however, if it does rain, then I could use the opportunity to get additional clips of the windshield wipers. 

Schedule

On 10/22/20 I researched the elements, conventions, and codes of Toyota vehicles.

On 10/23/20 I established the props, actors, and locations used in the filming as well as a backup plan.

On 10/27/20 I will create the storyboarding for the 30 seconds commercial

On 10/28/20 I will film the necessary shots for the commercial

On 10/29/20 i will edit and add final touches

  I started filming this blog on Friday, October 30th, 2020 when my mother and I went out. I figured that since we were taking the car, I could use that chance to film some of the interior features of the car that would be showcased. Because I needed my dad for most of the other shots, I waited till the weekend to continue the filming. That Sunday, on the 31st, I didn't have the chance to go out so I decided to film the 360 view of the car that would be used in the opening of the commercial. I used a long shot to show the entirety of the car exterior. I also filmed the scene that would come after the opening on that day. This scene was of my father putting a few things into the trunk of the car. On Sunday, my dad and I took a trip to the store. Title Research: Glass

Art of the Title The opening sequence shows the production company in charge of the film. It shows the company that works with distributing the movie. Then it shows the title of the film. The film then starts to show the actors playing in the movie. The sequence then starts to name the people who helped cast the film, as well as the director. It showed who was in charge of music, costuming, editing, photography, then the producers.  The opening sequence starts off with a recap. this film is a sequel, so it begins by introducing the main character of the original. Later on, it introduces some of the other characters. It builds the moment by showing background events that lead to the appearance of the next potential main character.  The first clip of the man speaking to the girls can allow us to assume that the man has some sort of psychological disorder. Genre Research: Final Choice

  Out of all three of the genres chosen, we decided to finally go with Drama. The reason for this choice is that a drama is simply more flexible than the others. There are so many aspects to a film that can make it be considered as a drama. On the other hand, Horror and Comedy have a big more restraint. When making a horror film, there has to be some element that “scares” the audience. Whether it is actually scary or not isn’t the point, but whether it creates a chilling atmosphere. It just didn’t really seem to fit into the prompt of our short film. We don’t want the audience to be too distracted by “not getting scared” to the point where they miss the message we are trying to send. Comedy was a little more close than horror, but again, it didn’t seem to match our story. The main purpose of comedic films is to have the audience laughing.
